Advice on Successful Holiday Fundraising
Here are a few basic wreath fundraiser sales tips that our customers have found to be helpful. Once your school, church or other nonprofit organization signs up, you will have access to more detailed sales tips, and a forum for sharing what has worked for your group will be available soon.
Organize Your Drive
- Plan well in advance
- Plan your Christmas wreath fundraising activity well in advance.
- Keep a folder
- Keep a folder of all your materials for the wreath fundraiser.
- Keep customer records
- Keep a record of your customers for repeat business during future Christmas wreath fundraising.
Sales and Marketing
- Advent Wreath
- A great alternate use for the centerpieces is to fill out an advent wreath (our troop is chartered to a church). The oasis keeps the greens alive inside the house for all 4 weeks of advent. We sell advent wreath rings to go with the centerpieces but you should consider offering them. Its great, you just put the centerpiece inside the ring and you are done!
- Leave doorhangers
- Our troop likes to leave doorhangers when someone is not home so they can call us about ordering wreaths and evergreens - especially our repeat customers.
- Motivate your sales team
- Develop creative ways to motivate the people in your nonprofit organization.
- Utilize all forms of communication
- Be sure to utilize all forms of communication available, newsletters, bulletin boards, email, etc.
Placing Your Order
- Make deadlines to catch straggling orders
- Make the deadline for the end of your wreath fundraiser in advance of our deadline to give time for straggling orders.
Distribution
- Set up a phone tree or email list
- Set up a phone tree or email list to easily get the word out when your wreaths and evergreens are delivered.
