Using a binder and folder

Here we are, beginning our journey of exploring the detailed steps of a successful evergreens fundraiser.   The use of a binder is something you could apply to any fundraiser.  We'll try to move through each of these steps fairly quickly, I know you are all anxiously awaiting the advice!

So, once you have decided on a fundraiser, use a binder or folder to keep track of all important documents and communication.  Below are some reasons for doing this.

1.  Organization is a key component to successful wreath fundraising

2.  The binder can be saved from year to year for consistency and record keeping

3.  Fundraising leaders can use the binder to pass on important information to incoming leaders

How would one go about doing this?  Well, you may have to invest in a 3 ring binder, or perhaps your nonprofit organzation has one in their supplies you could use.  Use the binder to keep track of any paper that comes through your hands regarding the fundraiser.  This paper may include your organization calendar, current price lists for the fresh wreaths and evergreens, the wreath fundraiser calendar, sales catalogs, lists of potential marketing resources, copies of ads you may run or rosters of bulletin boards you are utilizing, and perhaps even a copy of the FAQ sheet that can be passed out to your sellers.

Other folders you may need to utilize are on your computer.  It's a good idea to make a folder in your email to corral all correspondence regarding the Christmas wreath fundraiser into one easy to access spot.  You should also create a folder on your computer to store any documents created for your wreath fundraiser.  You may have past customer lists, contact information for your sellers, ads you are running, lists of people and places to publicize your wreath fundraiser with, phone trees or email lists for volunteers, a calendar, past and current pricing information, etc.

If you can keep all this information organized in a fashion that allows you to access it easily, you are on the road to an organized Christmas wreath fundraiser, which is one of the keys to a successful fundraiser.  You can also easily pass the baton onto the next person to organize the evergreens fundraiser, which makes the successful sales drive consistently return every year for your non profit organization.  This tip will benefit the holiday fundraiser you run for your school, church, Scouting organization, band, sports team, or really any nonprofit organization that needs to run a sales drive!  We'll be back soon with more tips to share.  Thanks for visiting!
