Step Six: Meet With Sellers to Prep for Sale
Please excuse the long absence from our blog; we've been fine-tuning things around here, trying to get ready for the Fall holiday fundraiser season. We're doing it for you!
We are continuing on our theme of step by step holiday fundraising advice. Our current topic is preparing your sellers. Before you begin your evergreens fundraiser, it is essential that you meet with your sellers to inform them of the details about the sale. The next best thing to a live meeting is to pass out an information sheet with the catalogs and sales records, or send an email with all the essential information. A school fundraiser may find it easiest to send the information sheet home with the sales materials in a weekly binder, while a scout fundraiser typically meets often enough that a live meeting works well for this task. A church fundraiser may find it easiest to make an announcement after Sunday services. There are many ways to prepare your sellers, however it works for your specific nonprofit organization just be sure to give your sellers the information they need to successfully sell.
At the meeting, or in the information sheet or email, inform your sellers of the holiday fundraiser start and end dates, who they should contact if they have questions, the prices your group will be charging, the fresh wreaths and evergreen products you are featuring, your sales goal, what you are fundraising for, and any other pertinent information. This is also the perfect time to pass out sales materials. Your sellers can familiarize themselves with the evergreens products and prices and also ask any questions before they begin selling. It's the perfect way to begin your wreath fundraiser, making sure that everyone is on the same page at the beginning. In addition, once your nonprofit organization is signed up to use the program, we have online tools available for you to help with this process of informing and preparing your sellers. We hope those tools will supply you with what you need to make your holiday fundraiser a success.
