Step Seven: Motivate Your Sellers

This topic is related to our previous post of "Meet With Sellers to Prep for Sale".  When discussing a sales goal with your nonprofit organization, or amongst the leaders, it can sometimes be very beneficial to have a system of incentives set up for your sellers beyond the benefits of raising funds.  While raising funds for your group allows your nonprofit organization to function, plan special trips, go to camps, buy new supplies, and other important things, sometimes your participants may need additional nudging to get going with the Christmas wreath fundraiser.  Some nonprofit organizations have found great success with making a sales goal for each individual seller and when each person reaches that goal they get a prize.  For groups that have kids, (i.e. school fundraisers, church youth fundraisers, scout fundraisers, sports fundraisers, cheerleading fundraisers) pizza parties, iTunes gift cards, other gift cards, ice cream parties, passes to local attractions, awards certificates or ribbons for selling*, etc. can be wonderfully sought after rewards.  Or let your kids make suggestions!  If they decide the prize, all the more chance they will really make an effort to try for the prize.

What do you do with your sellers to help inspire them to make the wreath fundraiser successful?

*Sherwood Forest Farms has free patches for scout troops.  We send five free patches to each scout troop that uses the evergreens fundraiser to help motivate your troop members.
